tickets for a living - the airline industry required all such agencies to use a certified accounting program to keep track of all of the details - on the agency end. TRAMS developed just such a program that was acceptable to the airline industry. Not only did it keep such details in order but did so in a secure environment -- which was one of their most important requirements.
Over the years, TRAMS developed a number of add-on modules for their basic accounting package - one of which is a profile manager they named Client Base Plus. CB+ uses a Borland database in the background - and with proper training is rather easy to use. CB+ has become an integral part of the way we use our overall travel reservation computer system.
A very neat ‘feature’ we use within CB+ is what they call a ‘Live Connect’ with many of the travel providers we use. Essentially - this allows us to input your trip request with all of the details you provide - over our secure reservation computer - and when available trips show on our screen -- CB+ Live Connect automatically pulls all of the data onto your reservation quotation card residing within the database. This improves our ‘speed of process’ and accuracy greatly as we do not have to ‘transpose’ the details and numbers manually. Everything within CB+ is extremely secure. This is a whole lot better than trying to keep notes on details on index cards or in notebooks.
All of the Live Connect data can be automatically prepared by CB+ into a formal quotation and printed out, faxed or emailed to you ... all within a matter of minutes. When you decide upon a proper trip - CB+ can take all of this data and prepare a nice looking itinerary and invoice. Several people have asked to see a sample of the printouts. Sorry - but we are usually too busy to prepare a ‘sample’. Tell you what - call and request a quote or better yet - book a trip with GBTC ...and we will be more than happy to Invoice you ... !
One final comment about CB+ - when you ask for a specific set of conditions for your trip - say a specific property or a specific destination on sale - we can enter the details of your request into a special section of CB+ which can be searched automatically - based upon keywords we enter. When we see a sale come up -- we can search CB+ for all clients who have expressed an interest in that criterion.
